Mafikizolo are here to stay, and the word around is that the group will be releasing a brand new album later this year. Nhlanhla Nciza(lead singer) has recently been hitting the headlines with speculation that she had left the group, and that mafikizolo was no more.
Too much for people to say, but Savibes can reveal that the album which the group are currently working on has already been tipped as one of 2008’s christmas party anthems and is expected to exceed platinum status soon as it’s been released. “That’s how good the album is” a source revealed.
Mafikizolo is part of the high flying star producing hit banging record label Kalawa records which is co-owned by one of South Africas most prominent artist, producer and DJ Oscar Mdlongwa (Oskido).
Oskido will be touring the UK with Mafikizolo, to celebrate South Africa Freedom day, and joining them on tour will be Kalawa’s new kid on the block Tina, who has just unleashed her first album, carrying the hit song ‘Abathakathi Bezigodo’.
Tina has already taken the music world by storm with her crowd pulling illusional dance moves which are being likened to late South African diva Lebo Mathosa, and has already made her mark in the UK in a previous tour with Trompies.
Mafikizolo – A vibrant, stylish group that created a delicious dance brew by mixing old and new South African sounds, have released seven hit filled Afro Pop albums, sold over a million copies, and picked up countless awards, which makes them one of the biggest groups in South Africa.
They will be performing with their full live band and dancers, and they have one more twist from within their highly talented group. Their long standing dancer Castro has been perfecting his Djying skills under the watchfull eye of Oskido, and is expected to close the night on the tour dates, with the skills he has been secretly keeping from the crowd ever since he joined Mafikizolo.
